NEXT Biometrics has two new clients serving the notebook and tablet markets, the company has announced.
In a statement, the company declined to name the clients in question, but noted that they are “brand name” customers, “including a Japanese Tier 1 firm”. The companies will integrate NEXT fingerprint sensors into forthcoming devices.
Commenting on the new deals, NEXT CEO Ritu Favre said they confirm the company’s strength in the notebook PC market segment, adding that “NEXT has a unique combination of large sensors delivered at industry affordable prices, a fact that is gaining increased recognition.”
The development arrives soon after NEXT Biometrics’ announcement of another new client earlier this month which placed a $150,000 order for fingerprint sensors. Next Biometrics also recently celebrated a milestone in surpassing the two-million-shipments mark, which it now seems to be poised to exceed considerably.
