“Now, as Alcatraz’s new head of product, Frederick will oversee the company’s Alcatraz Rock offering, which leverages biometric facial recognition for automated, contactless access control.”
Alcatraz is looking to refine its biometric access control solution with the help of a new VP of Product, announcing that Blaine Frederick has taken on the role.
Frederick has a solid background in the security and biometrics industries. He worked his way up from a role as Software Engineer to Product Manager at STANLEY Security from 2000 to 2015, and went on to serve as VP of Product Management at biometric authentication specialist EyeLock from 2015 to 2019. After that, he founded BDIS, a physical security consulting firm.
Now, as Alcatraz’s new head of product, Frederick will oversee the company’s Alcatraz Rock offering, which leverages biometric facial recognition for automated, contactless access control.
“As we pioneer a new sector of the security industry – autonomous access control – Blaine will play a critical role to bring the Alcatraz Rock platform to market,” explained the company’s Chief Revenue Officer, Tina D’Agostin.
For his part, Frederick laid out his own conception of what makes Alcatraz’s solution special in a statement announcing his appointment.
“Alcatraz looks at the problem of access control differently – instead of thinking about biometrics as solely a means to replace a traditional credential, we are looking at how we can improve the experience of not only the user, but also the business manager, the system administrator, and the installer,” he said.
Frederick joins the team shortly after Alcatraz’s announcement of another new executive in Debraj Sinha, who became its Product Marketing Manager in August.
It’s timely news for FindBiometrics, which is delivering dedicated coverage on the theme of Digital Transformation in the Enterprise throughout September.
