NEC of America (NEC) will be presenting two new biometric-based solutions to help enhance customer engagement for the hospitality industry at the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition & Conference (HITEC) on June 24-27 in Minneapolis, MN. A variety of unified communications solutions will also be shown at NEC’s booth at the conference.
The first solution to be demonstrated uses NEC’s NeoFace® Watch product to recognise VIP guests using facial recognition. By using NeoFace integrated into an existing video surveillance system, real time or web camera images can be used to match facial data to a property’s VIP guest database. Staff can then be alerted immediately when the identified guest approaches areas of the property, i.e. the front desk, club, kiosk or gaming floor.
“Being able to identify VIP guests immediately could enable the front desk staff to have room information pulled up before the guest steps up to the registration desk and be able to greet the guest by name,” said Raffie Beroukhim, vice president, Biometrics Solutions, NEC Corporation of America. “Overall, this capability helps enhance a VIP guest’s experience through personalization of services and increases customer satisfaction with the property.”
The second biometric solution to be showcased, a smart content delivery solution, captures visitor attributes anonymously, i.e. gender and age. This information can be used by hotel marketers to give instantaneous and targeted content to a guest based on the demographics collected.
“The use of biometrics in hospitality is emerging and could be beneficially applied to other areas of the business, including security, guest check-in line control, marketing traffic analysis, and more,” said Kevin Ruhman, hospitality vertical practice leader, NEC Corporation of America. “We’re seeing its application within the hospitality market expand to help organizations not with only internal operations, but also to improve the guest experience.”
NEC can be found at booth #907 during HITEC.
