Morpho Joins Natural Security Alliance

In a statement announcing Morpho’s new membership, the Natural Security Alliance said the development lends validation to its mission and should also help to encourage other major organizations to join.

Morpho (Safran) has joined the ranks of the Natural Security Alliance, the company has announced.

The Natural Security Alliance aims to define and promote authentication standards in a wide range of electronic services revolving around banking, payments and the like. Its standards place a strong emphasis on biometric security, and the international association says it has defined the first and only specifications designed to connect personal devices to biometric readers using NFC, contact, or mid-range technologies.

Morpho, then, is a natural fit. The company is a biometrics specialist, with endeavours ranging from time-tracking systems to its involvement in the TSA PreCheck program, an initiative aiming to use biometric screening systems to improve security, efficiency, and convenience in passenger screening at American airports.

In a statement announcing Morpho’s new membership, the Natural Security Alliance said the development lends validation to its mission and should also help to encourage other major organizations to join. Moreover, “Morpho’s arrival will also pave the way for the Alliance to explore new biometric methods (e.g. face recognition) and help strengthen mobile phone implementations” – good news for the industry and for consumers alike.
