“Event organizers have teamed up with an organization called Space for Humanity to let Money20/20 Asia attendees file applications to win an all-inclusive trip on a spacecraft that will reach “the edge of space,” according to a statement.”
Organizers of the inaugural Money20/20 Asia event have announced further details on the conference, and it appears that in addition to the cutting-edge technologies such as biometric payment cards and mobile wallets already expected to attract attention during the exhibition, there will also be an effort to send one attendee to space.
The launch won’t happen from the show floor. Event organizers have teamed up with an organization called Space for Humanity to let Money20/20 Asia attendees file applications to win an all-inclusive trip on a spacecraft that will reach “the edge of space,” according to a statement. One attendee will be selected to move onto an interview round with Space for Humanity on the last day of the event.
Looking to more earthbound matters, the event will also see the ASEAN FinTech Network and Ernst & Young reveal their first “Southeast Asia census,” a study of the needs of Asia’s FinTech ecosystem with an emphasis on matters of funding, demand, policy, and regulatory support. And on a similar note, Money20/20 Asia will host Ant Financial’s Ant Technology Exploration Conference, Ant Financial’s effort to reach out to the rest of the FinTech community to foster innovation across the ecosystem.
It should all help to make for a highly collaborative industry event, albeit one aimed at sending one attendee off of the planet. And it’s right around the corner: Money20/20 kicks off on March 13th at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore, and will conclude on the 15th.
