“Microsoft Edge also now features built-in biometric authentication via Windows Hello”

With its Windows 10 Anniversary Update now available, Microsoft is highlighting the new features of the Microsoft Edge browser.

Microsoft Edge Features Built-in Biometric AuthenticationIt was already a pretty impressive browser when it launched with Windows 10 last summer. Built on Microsoft’s Universal Windows Platform, it incorporated notation tools and the Cortana AI assistant, among other features.

Now, as Microsoft notes in a blog post, the latest iteration of Microsoft Edge supports a number of new extensions including those from AdBlock, amazon, LastPass, and more; and it has become the first browser to get a 100 percent rating from HTML5Accessibility.

Microsoft Edge also now features built-in biometric authentication via Windows Hello. Prominent credit union USAA has already committed to becoming one of the first organizations to take advantage of it, and given the enthusiasm surrounding the biometric authentication capabilities of Windows Hello since it debuted with Windows 10, many other organizations are likely to jump on board in the coming weeks and months.
