Microsoft Has Launched Its Biometric Keyboard

Microsoft’s biometric keyboard launched in the US this week.

Microsoft Has Launched Its Biometric KeyboardCalled the Microsoft Modern Keyboard with Fingerprint ID, the device’s frame is aluminum, making it lightweight and sturdy. It can be connected to a PC via USB or Bluetooth, and it features a rechargeable battery.

On its face, the keyboard looks just like Microsoft’s previously released Surface Keyboard, but there’s a crucial difference under the hood in the form of an invisible fingerprint sensor located in the right Windows key. The sensor comes by way of Fingerprint Cards, a leading supplier of fingerprint sensor technology for mobile devices and, increasingly, laptops and PCs. It lets users sign on to their devices with the touch of a finger, thanks to the Windows Hello biometric security system in Windows 10.

First announced only a couple of weeks ago, Microsoft’s new biometric keyboard is available now at an MSRP of $129.99.
