MatchMove Integrates Selfie Onboarding Into Digital Wallet Solution

Singapore-based MatchMove has added a biometric onboarding feature to its Wallet OS platform.MatchMove Integrates Selfie Onboarding Into Digital Wallet Solution

The platform is designed to let third party organizations create their own branded online wallets, offering payment, P2P transfer, and remittance services via virtual payment cards, or physical cards uploaded to a given app. Now, the platform also lets new users register online in a hurry, thanks to facial recognition and document reading technology. With a standard mobile camera, an end user can take a selfie and snap a pic of their official ID, with MatchMove’s technology matching the facial biometrics in the images to confirm the user’s identity.

It’s an approach that has proven very successful for other solutions providers such as Jumio, and MatchMove says its system is compliant with Singapore’s Know Your Customer and Anti-Money Laundering regulations. And market demand for such solutions only seems to be increasing, with MatchMove SVP Ashley Koh explaining in a statement that “[i]n today’s app world, customers and businesses are impatient to find good payments solutions while cybercriminals are proliferating and regulators are demanding more stringent checks.”

MatchMove announced its new solution at this week’s Seamless Asia exhibition in Singapore.
