The Human Chain, an IT management consultancy, and biometrics developer Gradiant plan to showcase their technologies together at the Biometrics 2015 conference in London next week. Representatives from The Human Chain plan to demonstrate Gradiant’s voice, face, and signature recognition technologies, along with The Human Chain’s own Digital Services Toolkit (DST), an online services development platform.
Gradiant is a member of the Biometrics Institute, and in fact is a non-profit organizations. It essentially acts as a biometric technology R&D center for Vigo University in Spain, helping to align the university’s academic pursuits with current business interests. To that end, The Human Chain, a business that is very much for profit, is helping to demonstrate how Gradiant’s biometric technologies could be used in real business applications, having itself previously integrated biometric technologies into web and mobile apps through its DST platform.
In a press release, Gradiant’s international business development manager, Daniel Ramos, said that in developing their technologies, Gradiant’s team focuses on “three core concepts: security, convenience and availability.” He added that the Gradiant team is eager to talk with visitors to their Biometrics 2015 booth about “biometric technologies, template protection, liveness detection and their current challenges in mobile authentication.”
The Human Chain managing director Tim Jefferson, meanwhile, said that he expects a range of professionals to visit the booth, but also pointed out that their demonstrations “will also help those with a more commercial interest understand the business case for deploying biometric technologies with existing products and services.”
