Portuguese travel tech and electronic identity management expert Vision-Box has announced the launch of its new Centre Of Excellence, established in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to act as a hub in Southeast Asia.

The company aims to use the new Centre of Excellence to continue strengthening its customer relationships while expanding its presence in the region following its strategic partnerships with Malaysia Airport Holdings Berhad and AirAsia Group, two of the country’s air transport leaders.
“The launch of this Kuala Lumpur-based Centre of Excellence is a testament to the importance of Malaysia in the company’s vision and mission, and our commitment to our customers in the region,” said Vision-Box CEO Miguel Leitmann. “The centre also brings us closer to two of our marquee clients in the country – Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad and AirAsia.”
“Malaysia remains a well-placed destination for us to capture the opportunities to diversify our supply chain and operations in Asia – taking the opportunity to expand our digital capability with the incredible pool of talents and fresh grad,” added Vision-Box Head of Asia Pacific, Fabrice Godeau.
This news follows a steady string of partnerships between Vision-Box and airports and other air travel industry entities throughout the globe over the past several years.
With the COVID-19 pandemic hitting the aviation and travel markets especially hard, Vision-Box has championed the use of biometrics — and particularly contactless screening — in the fight to ease travelers’ fears and help get people flying safely once again.
As demonstrated by a June 2021 deal to conduct a biometric screening pilot project at Bulgaria’s land borders as part of the European Union’s Entry/Exit System, the company’s efforts are not limited to the air travel segment of the overall travel market.
