IriTech Wins Frost & Sullivan Award for Iris Scanning Tech

August 1, 2017

IriTech has won the 2017 North American Frost & Sullivan Award for New Product Innovation. The company was recognized for its specialty – iris biometrics technology.

IriTech Wins Frost & Sullivan Award for Iris Scanning TechIn a statement announcing the award, Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Mike Valenti praised IriTech’s iris scanning solution as one that “works under direct sunlight at extended side-gazing angle and it offers built-in iris liveness detection.” Valenti added that such robustness is key for pioneering iris recognition “in emerging vertical markets such as mobile devices, automobiles, and augmented reality/virtual reality,” with the latter few areas being a key focus of IriTech’s recent partnership with Egis Technology.

The companies also highlighted the use of IriTech’s technology in Aadhaar, India’s groundbreaking national biometric ID program. Aadhaar has a rapidly growing reach in Indian society, and supports iris scanning via IriTech’s IriShield solution, among other devices.

The recognition could help to boost IriTech’s profile as iris scanning becomes increasingly popular thanks in large part to its emerging mobile applications.
