Imprivata has acquired the Identity and Access Management Business of Caradigm, a GE Healthcare company.
In a statement announcing the acquisition, the companies suggested that Caradigm’s Identity and Access Management Business will continue to operate as a firm focused on population health solutions. But Imprivata CEO Gus Malezis also asserted that the acquisition “will serve as a catalyst in expanding our market reach and our authentication and access management portfolio and allow us to expand our relationship with GE Healthcare.”
The statement did not disclose terms of the deal.
News of the acquisition arrives soon after Imprivata teamed with Just Associates to combine the latter’s data integrity services with Imprivata’s palm vein recognition solution for patient identification, PatientSecure. It also comes after Imprivata joined the CommonWell Health Alliance industry consortium this past summer, all of which may point to phase of expansion for the privately held company.
