“FPC says it’s the company’s most cost-efficient sensor yet, and Huawei is evidently enthusiastic about the offering…”

Huawei is about to launch another device in its Honor line of smartphones, and has once again gone with Fingerprint Cards technology for the device’s biometric capability.Huawei Honor 7X Featured FPC1028 Sensor Fingerprint Cards has announced that the Huawei Honor 7X features an FPC1028 sensor.

It’s a different sensor model than those Huawei has used in other recent devices like the Honor 9, which features an FPC1264. But the FPC1028 is new to FPC’s lineup, having just made its debut in another Huawei device, the Maimang 6, last month. FPC says it’s the company’s most cost-efficient sensor yet, and Huawei is evidently enthusiastic about the offering, perhaps especially since the Honor 7X is being marketed as a budget smartphone.

The device features the fingerprint sensor on its rear, making room for a longer screen than what appeared on its predecessor, the Honor 6X. Other features of the new device include a dual 16MP and 2MP rear camera system and 8MP front-facing camera, 4GB of RAM, a Kirin 659 processor, and Android Nougat as its operating system.

The Honor 7X is slated to hit the market in China on October 17th.
