Goodix Shows Off Biometrics at Computex B2B ICT Trade Show

Goodix was in attendance at this week’s COMPUTEX B2B ICT trade show, and took the opportunity to show off new technologies in the areas of smart cars and wearables.

The system can track the user’s heart rate and thus offers obvious applications in fitness tracking, and perhaps could be used for authentication as well, though Goodix isn’t yet making any such claims.

As for smart cars, Goodix has announced an 8.88″ high-definition touchscreen aimed at providing a sophisticated user interface. It doesn’t appear to feature any kind of biometric component, but given Goodix’s claim to having developed the world’s first in-display fingerprint sensor at this year’s CES, an integration of such technology into its smart car interface solutions could be in store in the future.

For now, though, Goodix is perhaps most keen to celebrate its recent fingerprint sensor integrations into the ASUS ZenBook Flip S and the Huawei MateBook X, both of which it was also showing off at COMPUTEX. Those devices, together with its win of two COMPUTEX d&i awards for its biometric display and liveness detection solutions, should help to further elevate the company’s profile.
