“The system uses Fujitsu’s palm vein scanning technology to identify vascular patterns in a given subject and is based on near-infrared light, allowing for a secure and non-intrusive means of biometric authentication.”
Fiserv, a FinTech specialist, has won the inaugural Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) FinTech ADVANCE Award.
The award was bestowed to the company in recognition of Verifast, its biometric authentication solution for bank employees and customers. The system uses Fujitsu’s palm vein scanning technology to identify vascular patterns in a given subject and is based on near-infrared light, allowing for a secure and non-intrusive means of biometric authentication.
In a statement announcing the award, Fiserv explained that the TAG FinTech ADVANCE Awards are meant to “honor established companies with a Georgie connection that are delivering measurable results within the financial industry through innovative solutions.” While Fiserv’s corporate headquarters are in Wisconsin, the company says it “has had a significant presence in Georgia for more than two decades and is one of the largest technology employers in the state.”
Complementing an earlier IDC Financial Insights FinTech Rankings Real Results Award for Verifast, the latest accolade further underscores the growing excitement around not only Fiserv’s solution, but biometric authentication technology in general.
