IDEMIA has won Frost & Sullivan’s 2017 Global Company of the Year Award, in recognition of “its array of innovative biometric solutions complemented by superior customer-centric support,” according to a statement from the growth consultancy firm.
In announcing its selection, Frost & Sullivan highlighted IDEMIA’s fingerprint recognition technology, particularly a touchless system capable of scanning four fingers with a wave of the hand; and the company lauded IDEMIA’s “intelligent designs and powerful algorithms” that “prevent acceptance of fake fingerprints, two-dimensional (2-D) images, and other modality-spoofing techniques”.
Frost & Sullivan also applauded IDEMIA’s facial and iris recognition solutions, which “work in a variety of lighting conditions, without the need to adjust the configuration.” And while Frost & Sullivan emphasized the use of such technologies in frictionless access control, it asserted that IDEMIA’s solutions offer “an array of applications, from government security to membership-run organizations to financial institutions, telecom operators or Internet of Things players.”
The award’s arrives just a couple of weeks after IDEMIA’s announcement that its facial recognition technology had attained a top ranking in the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Webcam and Selfie categories, offering a further testament to IDEMIA’s expertise in biometrics.
