FPC1245 Featured in New Vivo, OnePlus Smartphones

November 16, 2016

Two new smartphones are using biometric hardware from Fingerprint Cards. Vivo’s X9 Plus and the OnePlus 3T each feature an FPC1245 fingerprint sensor.

Mobile BiometricsThis particular sensor model made its debut early this year and has been featured in a number of devices from Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, and OnePlus. In a statement announcing the latest Oppo integration, FPC said its FPC1245 sensor “supports 0.2s unlock time, 360 degree rotation and self-learning accuracy.”

These latest integration announcements arrive in the same week as that of Huawei’s Mate 9 Pro, which features an FPC1268 sensor. While that device’s under-glass incorporation of its fingerprint sensor indicates a more innovative direction in which FPC integrations could be going, the Vivo and OnePlus integrations nevertheless highlight the continuing importance of more standard sensor integrations in the main line of FPC’s business, at least for the time being.
