Haslam got his start at security printer and passport specialist De La Rue, where he started as a graduate business trainee and worked his way to Head of Sales Americas at the end of a 15-year term. He has also worked with O2 Airwave, L-1 Identity Solutions, and Hesco Bastion; but in announced his appointment with TECH5, the company highlighted Haslam’s recent term with HID Global, noting that during his seven years with the company, he saw it grow from a company focused on components manufacturing to a global identity solutions provider, thanks in large part to a number of strategic acquisitions. Haslam departed his position as HID Global’s VP of Worldwide Sales in March of this year.
At TECH5, Haslam will help the company to develop a three-year business plan centered on the T5-IDencode solution and related biometric platforms. T5-IDencode is designed to capture biometric data in unique barcodes, and to facilitate offline fingerprint and facial recognition.

For his part, Haslam said that TECH5 is seeking to disrupt the conventional ID space through the use of Artificial Intelligence and cost-effective solutions aimed at the needs of customers. “These solutions will help revolutionize identity management in a highly cost-effective manner across sectors ranging from citizen identity to fintech and travel, from healthcare to retail,” he said.
