Today, Digitus Biometrics – a biometric access control solutions company – announced that its DAS-SQL software is now compatible with the Symmetry platform from AMAG.
DAS-SQL is Digitus’s proprietary access management software, and with AMAG’s help it will be bringing fingerprint biometric security to data centers. According to Digitus, data centers have already turned to the Symmetry platform to meet their legacy card access control needs. Essentially, AMAG has the infrastructure for video surveillance and card access, Digitus is bringing the biometric upgrade.
The newly compatible software will allow for user monitoring and management, as well as the integration of Digitus biometric hardware line, a range which includes fingerprint sensors designed specifically to protect servers. Firms can now migrate user accounts and related data to DAS-SQL without the need for re-enrollment.
Additionally, administration is made easier for the firm’s security staff through database sharing and single application control. This is a particularly useful management tool that directly attacks traditional barriers in biometric adoption.
In the end, this new compatibility comes down to accessibility and efficiency in data center security. No need to throw out legacy infrastructure, no need to worry about additional administrative hassle and assurance that biometric identity and access management are now achievable and convenient.
