January 20, 2014 – by the findBIOMETRICS Team
As part of the findBIOMETRICS annual Year in Review survey, we don’t only ask experts to participate in our biometrics industry polls, we also provide everyone participating a chance to personally divulge their opinions on the year that was and preview what’s to come over the next twelve months.
In November of 2013, findBIOMERTIRCS president Peter O’Neill had a chance to interview Richard Agostinelli, CEO of DigitalPersona. The conversation was on the heals of a major acquisition by the company. With our Year in Review survey, Richard got to give us an update on 2013, as well as a look ahead at the year to come.
findBIOMETRICS: Was 2013 a good year for DigitalPersona? What were some of the highlights?
Richard Agostinelli: Yes, 2013 was a good year for DigitalPersona. We expanded our secure banking solutions portfolio with the acquisition of Identity Stream, the provider of the T24 Biometrics Module which is used in the Temenos core banking system. In November we launched Altus – a software platform that addresses the needs for identity verification using fingerprints to bind the physical and logical identity. We also introduced several new optical readers and now offer the broadest range of fingerprint readers on the market today.
findBIOMETRICS: What will 2014 hold for your company?
Richard Agostinelli: In 2014, DigitalPersona will focus on using its deep understanding of biometrics and experience in authentication to help solve identity fraud and authentication problems. Our new biometrics-based identity verification solution, Altus, combined with professional services that provide customers with guidance in every phase of their deployment, from design to implementation, will provide security-minded enterprises the ability to authenticate customers and employees.
