Buzz continues to build for next week’s ISC East, northeastern America’s flagship security convention.
There is plenty of reason for excitement, but one of the biggest factors is a keynote address scheduled for delivery from a legendary former NYPD commissioner. Ray Kelly served as the head of the force during a tumultuous time – the years immediately following the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001. With the city remaining very much a target after the attacks, Kelly oversaw the NYPD’s transformation from a bit city police department to something closer to a counterterrorism force. The keynote will take place on Wednesday, November 15th at 2:00 pm and is sponsored by Altronix Corporation, a global leader in power and transmission solutions for professional Security, Surveillance, Access Control and Fire applications.
As ISC Events Industry VP Sherida Sessa explained in a statement announcing his keynote speech, “Commissioner Kelly was instrumental in NYC’s recovery from 9/11 and changed the way public safety is handled today.” Kelly should thus be a big draw for ISC East’s security-conscious crowd, and all the more so since now he is Vice-Chairman at K2 Intelligence, a firm specializing in digital security, as well as investigative intelligence and regulatory compliance.
ISC East will take place in New York City’s Javits Center from November 15th to 16th, and is expected to draw a crowd of about 7,500 security industry professionals.
