Jumio is stepping up in the fight against prostate and testicular cancer with a $10,800 donation to the Movember Foundation. The Movember Foundation is a men’s health charity that raises mental health and suicide awareness in addition to its cancer-fighting efforts.
The Jumio donation is the result of an in-house Movember competition. Each November, the Movember Foundation challenges men to grow a mustache to raise awareness (and funds) for the cause. Jumio opted to host its own event, pledging $100 for every employee who entered a mustache authentication contest.
To participate in the contest, employees had to go through the Jumio Authentication process without facial hair, and then again with a full mustache. To raise inclusion, employees sporting fake mustaches were also eligible to compete.
More than 100 Jumio employees eventually decided to opt into the promotion.
“I am so proud that employees across the globe, representing every department throughout the organization, stepped up to support Movember men’s health initiatives,” said Jumio CEO Robert Prigge. “Movember has had a personal impact on almost all of us in some capacity and we are thrilled to make this donation on behalf of our company and employees.”
