“It’s a continuation of a trend from last autumn’s ISC East event, where biometrics was established as a new product category and garnered considerable interest.”
With ISC West just a few months away, organizers have announced the security event’s education program lineup, and it looks like biometric technology will once again be a major theme of the annual event. Among the highlights of ISC West’s 85+ sessions, one is entitled “You Are the Password: Frictionless Biometric Security”.
In a statement announcing the lineup, ISC West organizers asserted, “Biometrics will continue to be a hot topic this year, with everyone wondering if using facial recognition or fingerprints is truly more secure than traditional passwords and pins.” The biometrics-focused educational session will delve into the current state of the art concerning biometric security, as well as “how its increasing popularity will impact our relationship with physical devices.”
It’s a continuation of a trend from last autumn’s ISC East event, where biometrics was established as a new product category and garnered considerable interest. Also big at ISC East was the topic of the Internet of Things, and that too is getting a top billing in ISC West’s educational programming in a session dubbed “How Advanced IoT Technology can Create the Connected Workplace of the Future”. Other big topics include digital security, drones, and how to deal with the uniquely American problem of active shooters.
ISC West will run from April 11th to 13th in Las Vegas, and registration is now officially open.
