BioConnect has been highlighted as one of TechWeek’s Rising Startups in Toronto’s tech scene.
TechWeek is a media and conference promoter that focuses on specific cities and their tech communities. The organization is operational in Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Washington, and Toronto, having made its Canadian debut last year.
For each city, it publishes its TechWeek 100 list, putting a hundred local companies in the spotlight. In the case of Toronto, the organization has shaken things up by dividing the list into the categories of ‘Talent Cultivators’, ‘Established Leaders’, ‘Investors’, and ‘Rising Startups’, where BioConnect landed. More specifically, given its focus on individuals within tech companies, Techweek highlighted Bianca Lopes, BioConnect’s Chief Identity Officer, who was on hand alongside BioConnect CEO Rob Douglas at this year’s Money20/20 Europe conference.
The TechWeek attention is another sign of the rising profile of BioConnect and its eponymous platform, which recently integrated FacePhi’s exciting mobile facial recognition technology into its multimodal authentication platform.
