Biometrics and identity management solutions company BIO-key International Has announced that it will be attending next week’s CA World 2014 conference and exhibition. BIO-key will be presenting fingerprint biometrics solutions that are compatible with CA Single Sign-On and CA Strong Authentication.
CA World begins on Sunday, November 9 and runs through November 12. The annual event is hosted by CA Technologies, a software provider focused on business markets. BIO-key’s solutions have been validated by CA as fast and accurate, meeting the company’s standards to be included in its offerings. BIO-key’s technology allows CA customers to nix inefficient and flimsy password protection with proven and convenient strong authentication.
BIO-key International will be showcasing WEB-key 3.5 and its new SideSwipe mini biometric fingerprint readers. It will also be co-hosting a presentation with the Province of British Columbia titled “Securely Delivering Online Services Using Biometric Authentication.”
British Columbia has implemented a biometric authentications service base don CA Single Sign-On and BIO-key’s WEB-key technology. The solution was made in response to a ruling by the Canadian Supreme Court guaranteeing the rights of persons awaiting trial in custody to reasonable access to confidential evidence provided by Crown Prosecutors. The BIO-key and CA technology based service uses fingerprint biometrics to verify inmate identities in holding facilities, providing them with online services.
Alyssa Fitzpatrick, senior vice president of CA Technologies’ Global Partner Organization explains the need for biometrics solutions like those offered by BIO-key, saying, “Applications are driving business growth, but security remains one of the biggest concerns across the industry. BIO-key solutions complement CA’s leading, single sign-on and authentication technology, adding a biometric option for customers who want to use something other than a password for login.”
Jim Skidmore, BIO-key’s senior vice president of global sales and channel development says that the company sees CA world as one of the more important events that it attends on a yearly basis.
“The event allows us to align with customers in key verticals such as financial services,” says Skidmore. “We also benefit from being able to present our solutions to the CA sales and support reps that attend the meeting. Education is a priority and CA World provides an ideal forum for us to enhance everyone’s understanding of an emerging technology.”
