Avalon Biometrics SL is proud to announce that we won in a consortium with Gemalto the World Bank tender for the Visa & Border Management System for the Republic of Ghana in West Africa.
Following the evaluation with the best technical score and subsequent award from the WorldBank & the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) in December 2012, the contract was officially signed 04.01.2013, in Accra, Ghana.
The project will implement the new state-of-the-art Visa & Border Management System for the Immigration authorities of Ghana, based on the market leading Visalon & SBMS solution, covering in this phase of the project the 6 main Ports of Entry (BCPs) of Ghana. The system consists of fixed stations (SBMS with VeriDoc), mobile stations/suitcases (Mobile SBMS with VeriDoc), as well ultra-mobile stations (ID2GO – immigration service). Around 40 smaller Ports of Entry are subject to be purchased in a later phase.
The new visa system will cover visa-upon arrival at the international airport, an online visa portal, data center & network upgrade and a variety of permits that Ghana Immigration is issuing.
A civil AFIS and eGates for Automated Border Control (ABC) complement the solution from Avalon Biometrics and Interpol, APIS and iAPIS external interfaces will be provided by Avalon for the respective systems
With this success, Avalon is proud to further underline its leading role in the homeland security market for eVisa & eBorder solutions.
