About two years after its launch, the Aruba Happy Flow program is being reinforced with a renewed partnership between Vision-Box and the Aruba Airport Authority.
At its outset, Aruba Happy Flow was one of the first automated biometric passenger screening programs in the world, and it quickly proved itself as a template for other deployments, winning the Radiant Pioneer Award in the same year of its launch. Now, the organizations involved are seeking to build on that excitement, with plans to establish a ‘Centre of Excellence’ which will allow them “to understand tendencies” and “develop new products and technologies in a real-life environment”, according to Aruba Airport Authority CEO James Fazio.
The plans arrive amid an increasingly favorable market landscape. Border authorities in the US and elsewhere are actively pursuing biometric screening solutions for airports, even as private air travel companies are looking to such technology for more efficient passenger processing. Vision-Box itself has also gone on to deploy its technology with new airport partners, further raising its profile in the industry.
Commenting in a statement, Vision-Box CEO Miguel Leitmann said, “We are convinced that this partnership will be the ground base for the next generation of Happy Flow”.
