Fingerprint recognition solutions developer Precise Biometrics is happy with its interim CFO – so much so that the company is taking him on as its new, official CFO. Tommy Nilsson is officially taking that position starting today.
Nilsson first came to Precise Biometrics as a temporary replacement for previous CFO Bo-Göran Jaxelius, who unexpectedly stepped down earlier this year for personal reasons relating to his family. Nilsson brought with him valuable experience from previous management positions at Brio, EVRY Shared Service Center, Malmö Aviation, Purac, and other major companies, and has evidently used his expertise to help guide the company out of a fiscal rough patch over the last couple of quarters, with Precise Biometrics having drastically improved its net sales will cutting net losses.
Precise Biometrics has also seen a number of high-profile integrations of its technology into Asia-made smartphones over the last couple of months, with Huawei and QiKu using it in their latest mobile devices. That line of business has been helped along via Precise Biometrics’ partnership with fingerprint sensor maker Fingerprint Cards (FPC) – a partnership that is likely to continue to reap rewards as more smartphone makers seek to include such biometric technology into their products. It will be grist for Nilsson’s mill.
