The inaugural Mobile World Congress Americas is now underway, and attendees are getting a look at the demos previously promised by FIDO Alliance co-founder Nok Nok Labs.
One of the demos shows off the potential of the GSMA’s Mobile Connect worldwide login service. The collaboration with Interbev uses the MobileConnect App and its attendant biometric verification to let users order beverages from a smart vending machine and confirm their age in the process.
Meanwhile, a collaboration with Visa and the GSMA shows how Nok Nok Labs’ NNL Authentication Server can be used to present Visa cardholders with push notifications alerting them to credit card charges, which then can then confirm with a biometric scan. And a third demo, developed with San Diego Healthcare, shows how mobile biometrics, either in the form of a fingerprint scan or facial recognition, can be used to enable in-the-field identification for emergency medical first responders.
These solutions are being showcased at the Innovation City pavilion of MWC Americas, which runs from September 12th to 14th in San Francisco.
