The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division has made a $37 million order with A-T Solutions Inc. The company is a counter terrorism solutions provider and will be supporting the Navy Expeditionary Forensics and Biometrics (NEFB) program, which provides expeditionary and reach-back forensic and biometric exploitation analysis support to operational agencies. The aim of the program is to meet the forensic needs of said agencies in terms of security, stability, law enforcement and intelligence.
A-T Solutions will be taking on a great deal of responsibility in terms of the Navy’s biometric forensics program. It’s a long lost that, in addition to various deployment and management tasks, includes forensic services in DNA, chemistry, firearm and latent print (fingerprint biometric) disciplines.
All of this is with the aim of improving the NEFB’s ability to provide full service forensic support to the Department of Defense. NEFB teams will be providing the DoD, and other operational entities, with specialized biometrics exploitation and forensics capabilities.
Dennis Kelly, A-T Solutions president and CEO explains, “Forensics and biometrics are especially essential to our nation’s and allies’ efforts to thwart terrorism and bring terrorists to justice. We look forward to our talented and highly experienced team providing exceptional in-field expertise, knowledge and technology tools to support the NSWCDD in this vital mission.”
Biometrics have applications on the battlefield in a number of ways related to forensics. From the vital biometrics that can help provide field medics the information needed to see the signs of traumatic brain injury, to in the field access control or identity enrollment, biometrics are changing the battlefield, and A-T Solutions’ newest contract is proof.
