This past week at FindBiometrics we kicked off May’s theme, Time & Attendance Month, with a primer. Meanwhile, in the industry news, we had proselytizing, payments and plenty of fingerprint, face and voice biometrics news.

As biometric technologies become increasingly ubiquitous they draw the attention of the public. Often, as with most new technologies, this attention can be negative, but that was not the case this week which saw pleanty of possitive support for strong authentication deployments and standards. The IBIA issued its support of a facial recognition deployment in a St. Louis high school, Morpho (Safran) joined the Natural Security Alliance, and popular opinion started to sway toward biometric border control acceptance in Australia. In addition to all of that, a large number positive reports were released regarding the global biometrics market.

Integrated Biometrics announced that its sensors are being embedded on two new devices, and a team of British researchers developed a miniature fingerprint scanner for use in the healthcare industry.
