With excitement building for the next entry in FindBiometrics’ renowned webinar series, the Security Industry Association (SIA) has announced that it will join in on the expert discussion.
Entitled “The Biometric Baseline: Starting the New Conversation in Physical Access Control“, the panel discussion will take as its starting point the fact that biometric technology is now a baseline standard in secure access to buildings and infrastructure. Fingerprint, iris, and even face scanners are now critical security mechanisms for the regulation of entry access, and employees who work in security-sensitive environments all over the world are getting used to such measures, and even finding them to be more convenient than PIN and password-based systems.
It’s an area in which the SIA naturally has a strong interest, and has considerable expertise to bring to the table. That expertise will be delivered by SIA Director of Standards Joe Gittens. Holding mechanical engineering and economics degrees from the University of Virginia, Gittens supports various SIA teams’ technical efforts with respect to standards, and should have some valuable insights to offer when it comes to physical access control.
Gittens joins representatives from Princeton Identity and FST Biometrics to tackle the issue in-depth starting at 11:00am EDT on Wednesday, May 31st. Registration is free, and you’ll receive access to a recording of the discussion so that you can catch up even if you can’t attend the live webinar. Sign up today!
