SecuGen will show off a new security solution at next week’s RSA 2016 conference. Called the Hamster Pro Duo/SC, it’s a combination fingerprint and smart card reader.
The device’s biometric capabilities are, of course, based on its Hamster Pro fingerprint reader, which features the company’s U20 sensor, offering FBI certified FAP 20 biometric scanning. Moreover, SecuGen says the Hamster Pro Duo/SC will also be PIV certified.
Commenting on the new device in a statement, SecuGen Engineering VP Dan Riley and CEO Won Lee both emphasized that it was developed in response to demand from the company’s resellers. “Partners were asking us for a combination product that was small, attractive, and affordably priced,” Lee said. “We are proud to be able to deliver exactly what they have been asking for.”
Scheduled to hit the market this April, the Hamster Pro Duo/SC is being showcased at RSA alongside other SecuGen offerings including its UN20 Serial OEM sensor, part of the company’s Unity Biometric Development Platform.
