Safran Identity & Security has received ISO 14298 certification for a production plant in Taubaté, Brazil, the company has announced.
The certification comes by way of Integraf, a not-for-profit consortium of European printing associations. In a statement announcing the certification, Safran explained that it indicates “the highest possible security requirements for certain printing systems” to ensure that a recipient institution “uses the most secure set of processes to fight fraud.”
It follows previous certifications attained by the company for facilities in the Netherlands in 2014 and in the US last year, when Safran’s MorphoTrust attained ISO 14298 certification for all of its driver license production plants. And it appears to be an increasingly important issue for the company as it works with IDEX to produce the world’s first ISO-standard biometric smart cards.
Commenting on the certification, Safran Identity & Security VP of LATAM Marcello Bellini Garcia said it “guarantees maximum security from development to deployment of their printed ID products.”
