Today, fingerprint recognition solutions company Precise Biometrics announced that Håkan Persson has been appointed as CEO of the company. The change has been made effective as of today.
Prior to this, Persson was acting as the interim CEO of Precise Biometrics, having taken over temporary leadership in November 2013 after Thomas Marschall left the company.
“Håkan has many years of CEO experience in building and developing businesses,” says Torgny Hellström, chairman of Precise Biometrics. “The Board is very pleased to have Håkan as CEO. We are convinced that Håkan has the right background for continuing to develop Precise Biometrics into a profitable growth, a job he began as interim CEO of the company. Håkan will initially continue to focus on sales and Precise Biometrics portfolio of existing products and services.”
When the search for a new CEO began, and Persson was first given leadership at Precise, the board hoped that a change in management would allow the company to “respond faster to opportunities in the market and thereby ensure momentum and benefit from the company’s healthy financial situation to the benefit of customers, shareholders and employees.”
Persson particularly stated the goal of unlocking the potential of Precise Biometrics technology by putting a greater focus on sales. His leadership clearly worked out well, now that the board has decided to stick with him.
With a long history of experience in the technology and communications industry, Persson has played the role of CEO many times before. He has a bachelor degree in business administration from the University of Lund and has an optimistic outlook on his company’s place in the industry, quoted in today’s press release announcement saying,
“Precise Biometrics has a unique position in a market that is growing and changing and I think it’s fantastic to be part of this development.”
