MorphoTrust USA (Safran) has launched a new Trusted Identity-as-a-Service (TIaas) platform. Called Identix, it’s aimed at businesses, consumers, and governments alike in a range of sectors, from financial services to healthcare.
It’s a cloud-based, highly scalable solution that MorphoTrust says is “optimized for searching, processing, authenticating, and comparing various types of identity data”. It can be used for a range of purposes, including controlling access to applications, investigating fraud, creating online accounts, and more.
In a press release, MorphoTrust executive Bruce Berger stressed the company’s already-established credibility in the identity management and authentication field, asserting, “We have deep expertise in establishing, issuing and verifying personal identities in some of the most demanding environments in the world.” The company has indicated that future iterations of Identix will include features related to real-time face recognition, document authentication, workflow management, and additional API tools for developers. The company is also releasing Identix Mobile Software Developer Kits, enabling developers to create authentication tools for mobile devices.
Berger is correct in asserting the company’s credibility in identity authentication, given the company’s prestigious work with the TSA in implementing biometric passenger screening for American airports, and its major presence as a supplier of identity documents in the US. And the company’s dedication to security extends beyond its technological offerings right down to the production process, as indicated by a recent ISO certification for some of those documents’ production facilities.
