Xperi Corporation subsidiary FofoNation will show off some of its biometric technologies at next week’s Embedded Vision Summit, the company has announced.
The company will demonstrate face and body detection and tracking technology along with iris recognition technology at the event. And its general manager, Petronel Bigioi, will deliver a presentation. Entitled “Ultra-Efficient VPU: Low-Power Deep Learning, Computer Vision, and Computational Photography,” the talk will discuss how deep neural networks can be used to enable and enhance computer vision.
FotoNation’s activities at the Embedded Vision Summit could help to further heighten its profile after the company partnered with Safran Identity & Security earlier this year to develop iris recognition technology for use with Aadhaar, India’s national biometric ID program. Meanwhile, the company’s earlier efforts in developing facial and iris recognition solutions for mobile devices could add to its momentum as major smartphone companies like Samsung begin to champion the modalities.
The Embedded Vision Summit will take place in Santa Clara, California, from May 1st to May 3rd.
