Biometric access control solutions provider Sonavation has announced some changes to its leadership, including the appointment of a new President and CEO. Karl Weintz, formerly Vice President of identity solutions provider HID Global, is taking the reigns. Other additions to the management team include Karl Rauscher as Member of the Board and Chairman of the Strategic Advisory Board, and Rob Tucker as Senior Vice President of Sales.
In a press release, Mr. Weintz enthused about the timing of his appointment, noting that as technology pushes us “towards a world that’s more connected than ever, security concerns are at an all-time high for businesses and consumers alike.” He added that he is “thrilled to continue Sonavation’s mission of implementing the highest security standards, and to join the company at such a critical time in our development.”
Sonavation specializes in fingerprint sensor technology, having worked with University of Texas researchers to develop a unique system based on ultrasound technology. The company recently demonstrated its FIDO-ready technology at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
