Hamburg-based biometric technology developer Dermalog is highlighting the sophistication of its solutions ahead of the CeBIT digital business exhibition, where the company will showcase its wares.
While Dermalog was keen to emphasize how its LF10 fingerprint scanner was helping authorities to manage the refugee crisis at last year’s CeBIT, this year it is placing a strong focus on its facial recognition technology. The company says its Face Matching software can scan through a group the size of the entire population of China within 14 seconds in order to find a biometric match. That’s over 1.3 billion people.
That’s just one of the modalities supported by Dermalog’s Automated Biometric Identification System, which also offers fingerprint and iris recognition. With the latter appearing to be an increasingly popular biometric modality and Dermalog having laid claim to “the fastest Automated Fingerprint Identification System in the world” toward the end of last year, there’s a strong case to be made for its ABIS, which Dermalog says has a wide range of applications, from national ID programs to banking to border control.
CeBIT 2017 will run from March 20th to 24th in Hannover, Germany.
