Fingerprint biometrics specialist BIO-key will announce its Q1 results on Monday, May 16th, the company has announced. There will be a conference call on the corporate update starting at 10:00 a.m. EDT, hosted by CEO Mike DePasquale and CFO Cecilia Welch.
While the company has not yet provided any indication of its fiscal results, it should have some cause to celebrate with respect to general business developments. Last month, the company announced a new partnership with a distributor in the Middle East and North Africa; and about a week ago its Board of Directors welcomed new member Pieter Knook, whose global experience and connections in mobile and IT should enhance the company’s presence in the global market.
Knook also has ties with Microsoft, for which BIO-key is the official biometrics partner as the IT giant promotes its Windows Hello security platform. In a recent interview with FindBiometrics, DePasquale suggested that the partnership has been opening up new business opportunities for BIO-key, which could also factor into its corporate update next week, though it isn’t yet clear whether those opportunities bore fruit in the first quarter of the year.
