Can you please provide our readers with a brief background of the company?
JR
As an introduction, our company has been manufacturing a full range of
security devices since 1989 in the field of Biometrics, Smart Card Readers,
RFID Proximity readers, and our award winning Access Control panels. We are
a trusted business partner in over 60 countries, and in North America we
are a highly successful provider of technology support to Military,
Government and Globally Branded OEM partners.
fB
Can you review your Biometric product lineup?
JR
Our Biometrics product lineup is divided in two main categories: Facial and
Finger Biometric. Finger biometrics is available in about 2 dozen models
with 3 different technology platforms, 125 KHz Digitally Encrypted PSK
modulation, 13.56 MHz ISO 14443 compatible Mifare, and EM Format. As an
overview, all of our Finger Biometric Readers are equipped with an optical
sensor that makes static discharge negligible topped with a crystal
sapphire scanning surface to resist scratches. Our finger biometric
readers supports up to 4,000 users with One to Many finger-only mode as
well as any combination of card and PIN-pad operations.
In April 2007, we released our LX series, a new web-based product line that
integrates advanced Time & Attendance features to its accompanying
software, Time Pro 2007. As a truly user & administrator friendly unit,
LX series is equipped with a large LCD display supporting multiple
languages, voice announcements, message transfer functions to directly link
to TCP/IP via built-in RJ45 input. We are currently developing a 10,000
user storage capable version to be released in Q4 2007. Our Facial
Biometric has been in development for over 4 years now and is at the final
stage of testing in select casinos. It should be available in Q3 of 2007.
fB
You offer both fingerprint and facial biometrics. In which applications do
you recommend facial recognition over fingerprint?
JR
Even though our finger biometric readers only capture encrypted values of a
finger data, some user perceive finger biometric as invasive. Facial
biometrics however, eliminate this fear with a truly contact-less, hand-
free operation. Additionally, facial biometric can incorporate with CCTV
cameras where image data may be used in a legal setting.
fB
Are you investigating adding any additional biometric types to your lineup?
JR
As an additional biometric unit to be released later this year, a multi-
modal facial recognition system that encapsulate facial & finger biometric,
RFID card, and PIN options.
fB
What vertical markets do you focus on?
JR
We are active in several vertical markets. Access Control and Time &
Attendance is our main focus, and we have made alliances with several DVR
manufacturers for integrating our software for CCTV market as well.
fB
As a global player, where are you seeing the greatest growth in the
biometric space?
JR
Geographically, our greatest strength is in the European and Middle Eastern
markets with finger biometric. U.S. market has not fully embraced
biometric for access control or Time and Attendance, nevertheless, we are
seeing a slow growth here. Overall, the greatest growth has been in multi-
functional biometric devices that work in combination with finger, card and
PIN.
fB
Has 2006 been a good year for the company?
JR
2006 had been a tremendous year for RFLOGICS. We have been experiencing
huge growth especially in the biometrics sector. As technology becomes
more efficient coupled with increased public acceptance in biometrics
products, we are very optimistic for 2007.
